At Crown Powersports we are powersports enthusiasts, and we are excited to help you experience the fun and adventure that a quality Kawasaki, Honda®, Yamaha or Polaris® vehicle can bring into your life! We are a powersports dealership serving the Abilene area, offering the best in new and pre-owned motorcycles and other powersports vehicles.

Max's opened in 1973 as Max's Cycle City by Max and Frankie Farmer. They sold used bikes and accessories. In 1974 the Kawasaki franchise was acquired and the name changed to Max's Kawasaki City.

In 1976 John Poor came on as Store Manager and Al Miller joined him in 1978. Honda® was added in 1983 and the name became Max's Kawasaki -

Honda®, Polaris® and Yamaha were added by the early Nineties and thus Max's named was changed to the current Max's Cycles, Kawasaki, Honda®, Yamaha and Polaris®. Max and Frankie Farmer, with the help of John Poor and Al Miller, had seen their small dealership grow into one of the largest in Texas. In April of 1992, Max passed away. Since then John and Al have continued the great tradition for friendly service and good deals.

John and Al purchased the building and the adjacent building in 1992 and opened a huge new service facility. Then in 2004 John and Al purchased the dealership and another building to open as an ATV - UTV headquarters. Today they are one of the largest dealerships in the Southwest that has not forgotten its small beginnings and friendly service.
